The Virginia Rehabilitation Association (VRA) is seeking your SUPPORT and PARTICIPATION for its 9th Annual Golf Classic, now called the VRA Benjy Burnett Memorial Golf Classic. Benjy, a vocational rehabilitation counselor and disability advocate, passed away in October, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with Melanoma. As an avid golfer and long-time VRA member, Benjy was the driving force behind this tournament, which benefits the VRA’s educational programs for rehabilitation professionals and promotes services for people with disabilities. This year, VRA also will donate a portion of the tournament proceeds to the Positive Vibe Café and a local Cancer Charity in honor of Benjy. The Positive Vibe Café’ has received national attention as an innovative food service training and employment opportunity for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
