All Advocates for "A Life Like Yours"!
NOW is the time when YOU can make a critical
difference in the lives of Virginians with intellectual and developmental
disabilities across the Commonwealth!
The Governor will release
his 2008-2010 State Budget on December 17, 2007. Funding for community-based
services may or may not be in it and that is where the grassroots
advocacy efforts come in... Governor Kaine needs to hear from YOU today!
Please take a few minutes
to send an email to Governor Kaine, letting him know that community-based
funding is a priority to YOU and asking him to adopt The Arc of
Virginia's Community Living Action Plan. Also, be sure to share with
Governor Kaine if you or someone you care about is or has been personally
impacted by any of the following:
• The MR Waiver waiting list
• Not qualifying for help from the MR Waiver because of eligibility
criteria
• Lack of affordable/accessible housing in your community
• Low Medicaid Waiver reimbursement rates
